How about a cheat sheet for the pics contest!

 

 

 

These do's and don'ts will let you know exacly what we're looking for. Winning is easy when you cheat!

 

Do:

Take pics with good light.

Outdoor pics are always better unless you have a mad setup indoors.

 

 

Don't:

Low contrast backgrounds

Try to find a high contrast background that your dreads don't blend into. We wanna see them knattys...

 

 

Don't:

Out of focus pics

Try to take pics with a good digital camera rather than a low resolution 'puter cam. You can also take'em with a 35mm camera and scan them.

 

 

Don't:

Blurry, low resolution, pixelated pictures.

It's the unknown person with some hair and sunglasses. Low resolution pics mean little detail, and we want to see you and your dreadies. So take pics with a good digital camera or with a 35mm camera and scan them or snail mail them to us!

 

 

Don't:

Clipped off dreads

Don't cut off your head. We want to see all those dreadies so try to get your dreads fully in the picture.

 

 

Don't:

Rain Man expressions...

Dumb expressions look.....well dumb.

 

 

 

Don't:

Hide your face

Everyone is beautiful. We want to see you and your dreadies.

 

 

 

Don't:

Take pics from 20 yards

The whole idea here is to show off those phatty locks of yours! So make sure we can see them.

 

 

Don't:

Pics on acid

Pics like these are tight in the art section but for the pictures section we want to see the dreads.

 

 

Don't:

Take pics of your butt

Unless you have a nice butt.

 

 

 

Don't:

Take pics with the sun at your back.

Look! Over there, it's the dreaded silhouette man!

 

 

 

Don't:

Take pics with the sun in your eyes

Unless you're Gilbert Gottfried, then it doesn't really matter.

 

Don't:

Surprised pics.

Do you think this is a good pic of you?

 

 

 

Don't:

Bad colors and crazy hues.

Life like color or close to it is best. Outdoor pics usually have better color too. If you are forced to take them inside use incandescent rather than florescent light and it will look warmer.

 

Do:

Send pics for the art section also.

If you can show off your dreads and your artistic prowess at the same time that's even better

 

 

Do:

Take pics of the back of your dreads!

We like to see what all your dread look like so send as many different angles as you can.

 

 

Do:

Send tons of pics!

The more great pictures you send the better. Send some when your dreads are new, send more when they mature. Even if you've already won you can win again in 6 months!
